Heart Hospital of Lafayette believes visitation by family members and significant others contributes to quality patient care. We encourage visitors and value the assistance family members can provide to their loved ones while under our care.
Designated caregivers, as determined by the patient and family, will be educated along with the patient in order to facilitate a return to wellness. We encourage caregivers to spend as much time as needed with the patient to learn the necessary skills to assist the patient after discharge from the hospital.
There are times, however, when a patient's condition requires all visitors to leave the room. Should such a situation arise, we respectfully request that all visitors comply with the patient's physician, nurse or other clinical staff.
We ask that visitors follow the following visitation hours:
- Patient Care Unit (PCU): 24-hour visitation. One visitor is welcome or may spend the night. After 8:00 p.m., visitors must check in with Security at the Emergency Walk-In entrance, and should notify the patient's nurse that they will be staying the night.
- Emergency Department: Two family members or significant others may visit at a time. There are no sleeping accommodations for visitors in the ER.
- Day Patient: Two people are permitted to stay with the patient while in this area. There are no sleeping accommodations for visitors in the Day Patient area.
